Sludge Settler |
The sludge generated during some plating/ phosphating process, flows out along with the effluent through the drain pipes. Sludge is also formed by way of precipitate during treatment of effluent. It is essential to segregate the sludge from treated liquid effluent by means of sludge separator / clarifier.
Typically, two types of settlers are in use. One is a batch type cylindrical vessel with a slow speed blade type stirrer, which allows settlement of sludge after prolonged usage. The other is an inclined plate type Lamella clarifier, which is more popular, particularly since it allows continuous operations, thus reducing the time factor.
The settler is a tank with inclined walls, provided with inclined corrugated plates in between the walls. The effluent is made to pass parallel to the inclined plates in the vertical upward passage at pre-determined velocity. This results in settling of the suspended solids, which slide along the plates, down to the bottom of the settler.
Both varieties of clarifiers have conical bottom. The solids are periodically pumped with the help of a screw-pump to sludge drying bed or filter press.
The size of a settler is determined by volume of effluents and periodicity of effluent generation / disposal. |

Titanium Anode Baskets |
Titanium baskets replace the use of anodes in the shapes of plates, rods etc; and therefore the use of primary anodes save operating costs considerably which pay for the initial cost of baskets in a few months. Titanium baskets are widely used particularly in nickel plating because of its excellent properties such as:
- High corrosion resistance
- High strength to weight ratio, allowing it to carry large weights without distortion
- High wear resistance
- Provides constant anode area hence enabling constant current density.
Primary nickel in odd forms can be used. The baskets are fabricated from expanded metals of 1 mm thickness, diamond mesh, stiffened with sheets of 1 mm thickness as required. The suspension hooks are further provided with copper strips for proper current density. |

Salt Spray Test Chamber |
This chamber produces sultry / corrosive and humid atmosphere by way of salt solution sprayed by way of mist through an air compressor and a specially made nozzle. The plated components are exposed to this corrosive atmosphere within the closed chamber. The effect of corrosion insteps on the metallic surfaces of the components and is noted in terms of hours. Corresponding set tables convert these salt spray test hours to the expected actual life of plated components

Agitation |
In the chemistry of plating, and metal finishing, agitation renews the cathode film, decreases polarization and enables the use of higher current density. This means finer grain deposits and higher plating speeds. In rinsing, agitation prevents localized concentration of drag-in. It also lowers drag-out and minimizes the amount of rinse water needed. Lower rinse water loads reduce the size and cost of water treatment equipment required by environmental authorities. Two varieties of agitation are popular, viz, air agitation and eduction / whirling.

Barrels |
The barrels are hollow cylindrical container which are used to measure a set capacity of a given commodity. All these barrels are extensively used in various industries for storing oil, chemicals, water and various other materials.
Unloading chute : This is a cone shaped flat chute which is made of SS/ PP that facilitates for ease of unloading of components onto a basket from barrel.
Drip tray: This new arrangement supports in diminution of adjourning of solution at each station, by directly placing a pneumatically functioned or pinion and rack sort tray below the barrel, while it is being picked up out of a tank. The gathered solution is then drained into a pipe multiples and sent directly to the ETP. This substantially decreases the contagion at each station by over 15%.
Drip accelerator: This design characteristic assists in a quicker drip of the solution from the barrel, thus lessening the drip time at each station and at the same time reducing the carry-over of solution by over 30%.

Jigs And Fixtures |
